A successfully completed degree requires a total of 120 semester-hour credits. Each individual three credit course corresponds to no less than 39 hours of classroom instruction. Four credit courses, which include laboratories, have additional hourly requirements. The specific detailed requirements for the make-up of the 120 credit total vary from program to program. More information about the current requirements for a particular program of study is available from the Office of the Registrar.

 

Education

Bachelor of Jewish Education: This program is designed to provide technical knowledge and theoretical awareness. A compulsory Practicum requiring over 300 teaching hours provides invaluable experience in real classroom settings. Talpiot strives to match the particular educational environment with those skills and interests the student wants to develop. Talpiot’s Practicum component has garnered widespread approval from educational institutions throughout the Toronto area. Read more

 

Special Education

Bachelor of Jewish Education(Special Education): The classes in this program include specially designed instruction in the related services available to students with exceptionalities.Ideally, services are provided in an inclusive educational environment and are utilized in place of the school’s standard educational program. Much of the format and structure used in General Education and the Practicum component are applicable in Special Education classes. Read more

 

Science

Bachelor of Judaic Studies (Science): This program is designed primarily for students who wish to prepare for entry into the health professions or who want to engage in more advanced scientific studies. The curriculum provides students with a strong didactic and laboratory backgound in science along with a broad foundation in the liberal arts. Courses in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, anatomy and phsiology are supplemented by courses in english, statistics, calculus, and developmental psychology. Read more

 

Accounting

Bachelor of Judaic Studies (Accounting): This program provides extensive instruction in the field of accounting and related subjects, with exposure to a wide variety of academic topics and practical issues. The accounting program has been designed to satisfy certain U.S. state board requirements toward professional designation as a Certified Public Accountant. Read more
